To everyone who has said \”Why don\’t you have a job?\”
To everyone who has said \”You look healthy/fine to me.\”
To everyone who has said \”Why the hell did you have to file for bankruptcy at age 20?\”
To everyone who has said \”Get over it.\”
I present you with the following.
Enter Evidence #1: the total sum of my medical bills from the time I moved back to D.C. in December of 2000 to the time I received Medicaid in February of 2003:
$127,844.76
That does not include the bills from being in the hospital in Pittsburgh that December (2000), or the hospital in Gaithersburg that October (2000), or all the medications they had me on that fall (2000) because I had double lung pneumonia and a bacterial blood infection that had set into my kidneys and liver. It also does not include all the doctors bills and prescription costs from prior to 2000, because I have to track all those medical records down and start tabulating from the age of 13 in 1995.
And THIS, ladies and gentlemen, is why I am going to court.
I have my two lawyers, and we are gathering the files. I am going to get my thunder back. Just you wait. Just you fucking wait.
There is no wrath like a Cancer scorned, misdiagnosed, mistreated, made worse by malpractice and billed into bankruptcy for eight years.
