There are five properties in my county currently for sale with listing prices of less than $200,000. All five are condominiums.

Affordable housing is in such short demand here, that my county has a section of its County Planning Department solely devoted to affordable housing, an Affordable Housing Conference, a Housing Opportunities Commission Housing Authority, and a long waiting list for its Moderately Priced Dwelling Unit Program, but we still have an affordable housing shortage.

In a county where the median income is \”$89,000 for a family of four, or $71,000 for a family of two,\” where does that leave the backbone of society, the working class? Or heaven forbid, those without jobs? Oh yeah, Prince George\’s County.
