Beating me out of me is pretty much all I have been doing the past few days. Last night I finally paid the toll and collapsed, sleeping for nearly thirteen hours. Before my Sonata days started, this was normal. Since landing my prescription, however, I only sleep about five hours a night. Thirteen was blessed.

People have been crawling out of the woodwork like termites. Old friends calling, two new friends on the friends list, a friend of a friend ambushing me on AIM, play time with and a two hour conversation with my sister, all between Sunday night and last night. I felt like the most popular girl at the party, fo\’ real, yo. What happened to the wall flower?

At any rate, the most special part (sorry Mattikins) was the conversation with my sister. Sisterly bonding time is the bees knees, let me tell you. I love that girl. We curled up on her bed and talked good things, from bi polar to Kill Rock Stars to future career and living plans. The plan, as it were, is for the two of us to get an apartment together after her senior year ends this May. That will fucking rock my world.

My sister is my favorite female person in the whole world and one of the few (out of maybe ten) that I get along with. She might even come to ViF this year, as it looks as though she is finally past the \’big sister equals embarrassing\’ thing. My sister is this awesome, intelligent, insightful, mature, feminist, driven young woman, and she totally kicks ass. I wish I had had my shit that together at the age of sixteen.

So my sister and I shot the shit for two hours until I started to fall asleep on her bed, then I went an curled up in my own heated hole and zonked out. I dreamed of some crazy things, most of which is not worth repeating. The one thing worth repeating is I dreamed that my sister and I had a dj night, that we tutored each other in the fine art of musical exploration and our apartment became over run with rare female artist seven inches. We had to get rid of the couch in order to make room for the extra shelving for the music. I infected her with the obscure music bug, and once bitten, there is little hope for remission — only years and countless amounts of money devoted to the quest for more interesting music.

I played Lung Leg for her and she nearly shat herself. Maybe my dream is not such a dream after all… It goes hand in hand with something else I have been thinking about lately, inspired by reading Ruth Rosen\’s The World Split Open. We shall see. In the meantime:

I love my sister, she\’s the best!
She\’s cooler than any other girl that I have ever met.
She had the greatest band, she had the greatest guy.
She\’s good at everything and doesn\’t even try.

Sing it, Juliana.
