Well then.
Woke up at 1pm after eight hours of sleep with the Ambien. Hurrah, I thought. I started to roll over to get out of bed so I could make it down to the WATTS potluck, when a horrible pain ripped through my midsection. Then three at once, in different places. It hurt to breathe, let alone get out of bed. These weren\’t menstrual cramps; I had no idea what they were. Didn\’t seem like pulled muscle, either.
After about 15 minutes I finally worked up the nerve to roll out of bed, stumble over to the closet, pull out my heating blanket, plug the sucker in and then roll back into bed. I stayed there for another three hours, trying to not move. Then as suddenly as it had begun, the pain was gone. No clue what caused it, though I\’m guessing it might have been the Ambien, which is making me hesitate to use it tonight.
I got out of bed, and had the loveliest of lovely surprises. Dale is here! I have a new puppy! He\’s a six month old mutt – a black Labrador, cocker spaniel, border collie mix. Football – my last dog, whom I had for 13 years – was also part border collie. The border collie breed is one of my favorites; so beautiful and frisky. Dale, however, is almost entirely black, while Football was caramel and white.
I\’ve decided to fuck the scene support in favor of Chinese food and playing with my new dog. Football died this past June, and it left quite a void in my life. I get anxious when I don\’t have a dog around to wrestle with, talk to, take long walks with, and just generally be goofy around.
Also, I\’m hoping to talk to Mark tonight, about last night. He wrote some things in his journal that have me rather worried: that he\’s been having panic attacks almost every day since meeting me and starting his new job. Now, I met him and he started his new job within days of each other, so it\’s likely a combination, but still… one of the last things I want is to be a major cause of stress in his life. :/ I\’m not worth a daily panic attack. Gotta figure this shit out.
In the meantime, I have a puppy to play with. Pictures soon!
